[Discussion] Need help trying to open a new account. (Please tell me what the best path to take would be)

Long story short…I had a bank of America account that I owed money on that was closed 2 or 3 years ago.

My question is which option would be best for me?

  1. Try to talk to bank of America and pay them off in hopes that they'll let me open a new account. (If I did go this route, would they definitely allow me to open a new account with them?)

  2. Try a "2nd Chance account” at Wells Fargo or another bank that offers something similar.

  3. Try to pay off bank of America and try to get cleared from chexsystems so I can open an account somewhere else? (Not sure how long this process would take, but I really want to open an account soon…so if this takes a while, it wouldn't be ideal)
