Amid a spate of retailers unveiling sales events to challenge Amazon’s Prime Day, Ace Hardware said its “Ace Rewards Day” is returning for the third consecutive year. The two-day event provides online promotions and bonus offers for members of Ace Rewards that are only accessible through the hardware retailer’s website, according to a Thursday (June 17) announcement.
“Ace Rewards Day is a great way for us to give back to our loyal customers by offering valuable discounts on tens of thousands of products,” Bill Kiss, head of digital at Ace Hardware, said in the announcement. “With home preservation projects and summer grilling in full swing, we are excited to say ‘thank you’ to our customers with these exclusive online deals and discounts.”
The event commences just after midnight on Monday (June 21) and is in effect through Tuesday (June 22). To that end, members of Ace Rewards can save 15 percent with a discount code on some regularly priced merchandise and accrue double bonus points.
Moreover, online purchases of grills and grill accessories that meet a certain threshold are qualified for complimentary assembly and delivery.
Shoppers can enroll in the Ace Rewards program at no cost through the hardware retailer’s website.
Beyond Ace Hardware, Kohl’s plans to have a “WOW Deals” event on June 21 to June 22, which will showcase “epic savings on hundreds of products across home, toys, beauty, and apparel,” according to an announcement from the retailer.
As PYMNTS previously reported, Target, Walmart and other merchants are moving to dilute Amazon’s Prime Day event on June 21 and June 22 by unveiling their own plans to hold competing sales.
For example, Target’s online only Deal Days will jump ahead of Amazon by a day and provide what the retailer promotes as “3 days of spellbinding savings with no membership fees” targeted toward different merchandise categories such as food, beauty, health, clothing and home furnishings.
